GTA Online Is Paying You 4X Cash to Play a Massive Tribute to the Original Trilogy

Rockstar Games has packed this week's Grand Theft Auto Online update with a mix of new content, serious cash-earning opportunities, and discounts across a wide range of vehicles.

The biggest new addition this week is the debut of the Community Mission Series, a new format where player-created content gets an official spotlight in GTA Online. The first mission, Old School Hits, was made in collaboration with GTA Series Videos, a long-running GTA content channel. It's built using Rockstar's new Mission Creator and is described as a tribute to three missions from the original GTA trilogy.

To start it, head to the corona at Legion Square. Running through May 6, it pays out 4X GTA$ and RP, and completing it also counts as the Weekly Challenge, netting you an extra GTA$100,000 on top of that. Rockstar says more community missions are coming, with a Race Series event planned for later in May.

Two of the game's hit-style missions are carrying boosted rewards this week.

Madrazo Hits is offering 2X GTA$ and RP, with the payout climbing to 4X for GTA+ members who use Martin Madrazo's preferred weapon. Payphone Hits, which requires you to have completed at least three Security Contracts before Franklin will call you in, is running at 3X GTA$ and RP all week.

Open Wheel Races are part of the Featured Series this week and are running at 3X GTA$ and RP. The Time Trial this week, Down Chiliad, is also paying out at the same 3X rate, so if you're looking to grind rewards efficiently, racing is the play right now.

The Annis Minimus has a new livery available called Big Minimus Energy, giving the sedan a worn, scuffed-up look. You can grab it at any vehicle workshop or through the Luxury Autos showroom window.

All three Open Wheel race cars, the Progen PR4, Benefactor BR8, and Declasse DR1, are 30% off, which lines up well with the Triple Rewards on Open Wheel Races. A broad range of other vehicles are also 30% off, including the Pegassi Osiris, Obey Omnis e-GT, Dinka RT3000, Vapid Dominator FX, Dewbauchee Vagner, Invetero Coquette D1, Pfister Comet SR, Grotti Turismo Classic, and the MTL Wastelander.

At the Gun Van, the Precision Rifle is 40% off for everyone. GTA+ members get the Combat Shotgun for 30% off and body armor at 70% off, and the Stun Gun is free for members.
